Apocalyptic Baggage

The world is about to end. Think of the implications. History is culminating and we have been chosen to represent the grandest finale. Judgment is coming to the earth. Evil will soon reach a plateau. The Second Coming of Christ is immanent and we are busy making movies about pathetic prophecy. Why is the Apocalypse such a common topic with so many different perspectives? Why is the Christian perspective of the end times just another view? Simply said, the devil is trying to undermine truth.

I remember a scene from the Italian Holocaust movie Life is Beautiful. Guido's son,Joshua, is mistaken for a German boy and is fed with all the other German children. Guido challenges Joshua not to say a word, under the pretense that he is playing a game. While the children are being served, the boy slips out a "Grazie!" An instructor hears this and goes to inform a superior. Upon the arrival of the superior, Guido is leading the children in a chorus of "Grazies." He created the perfect diversion that kept his son from being singled out.

Sorry Guido, but similarly Satan is crafting a diversion that bulks the truth about the end times with exaggerated stories and myths. Here's the truth:
The world is about to experience great tribulation. More than half the people in the world will die from disease, famine, war, persecution, etc. The Antichrist is about to set up a financial and worship system. Those who associate themselves will become reprobate. Jesus will return to the earth to bring justice. Those that rejected him will be sent to an eternal hell of fire, sulfur and darkness.

Even in the midst of these tribulations people will be blinded from seeing that current events where predicted in the Bible because of the confusion plaguing their minds. But, in the end, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. Everything will become very clear. May we walk in this clarity while it is still day, night is upon.
