One of the most memorable places I visited in New York was a small pizza place in Brooklyn called Grimaldi's Pizza. This pizzeria is located right under the Brooklyn Bridge and overlooks the Hudson River and the Manhattan skyline. At any given time of the day there is a two hour wait to get seated in the small run down restaurant. We only had to wait for 30 minutes because we arrived before opening.
Grimaldi's, too, has no one to impress. Even a slight effort to remodel and clean up would have given the place a better look, but the owners seem more concerned with feeding the hundreds of customers. Although my experience in New York was great, few things really stood out like this hole-in-the-wall pizzeria with a clear view of the undersides of the Brooklyn Bridge. The pizza was amazing.
